Our Story
We’re Jacob and Tammy, the heart behind the farm. We met at Northland College, where we quickly bonded over a shared love of nature, farming, and adventure. Long before we ever owned land, we spent years learning—diving into books, videos, and hands-on skills—preparing for the day we could bring our vision to life.
Jacob is the visionary and long-term planner of the farm, deeply studied in permaculture and passionate about implementing systems that work in harmony with the land. Around here, we call him the “Plant Guy.” Tammy is the “Animal Gal,” focused on animal genetics, selecting the right livestock for our farm, and working with mineral balancing and herbal care to support their health.
We’ve been deeply influenced by leaders like Joel Salatin, Greg Judy, Ben Falk, and Allan Nation, and their philosophies continue to shape how we steward this land.
Together, we set out to create a farm that produces nutrient-dense, nourishing food while caring for the land in a way that is regenerative, beautiful, and life-giving—a place not only to live, but to gather and share with others.
We’re also raising two incredible children who are growing up right alongside the farm. Our son is endlessly inventive, always dreaming up new ideas and innovations, while our daughter has a special love for wool processing and working with cows. They truly are the light of our lives and bring so much joy to everything we do.
Community is at the core of our vision. As the farm grows and flourishes, we look forward to opening it up—hosting events, sharing knowledge, and creating a space where others can connect with the land, their food, and each other.
